That’s right! After the next update training times will be removed!
Key Points:
- Your Troops, Spells and Siege Machines will be ready for use instantly
- No Hero recovery time, they are always ready for battle.
- Legend League players will still have their 8 battle per day limit (for now) but will still benefit from being able to attack back to back
Why?
Noone likes waiting for their army to be ready. It’s been almost 3 years since army Training Costs were removed and that was (and still is) an impactful change. It led to more varied attack strategies and increased enjoyment.
Training times are another bottleneck to enabling players to play when they want as well as having longer sessions if they wish rather than needing to take a break after 2 attacks while waiting for their army and heroes to be ready again.
Will the clouds become a permanent problem?
For those unfamiliar with the “the clouds”, this can occur during periods with a lot of active players where you need to wait in a queue for an unshielded village to attack.
The March 2025 update will introduce some new server tech called Match Anytime. When there isn’t an eligible village for you to attack, you will be offered a snapshot of a real player’s village to attack instead. You’ll still be able to attack to gain loot and trophies as normal, however the defender won’t lose any loot or trophies. These snapshots will only be used when there aren’t any “real” villages to attack, otherwise things will continue to work as they do currently where the defender will lose loot and trophies.
Snapshot bases are not a new concept within Clash of Clans, they are already in use for Legends League and Clan War attacks but this expands it further to include Multiplayer Battles too. In the initial release, you won’t see if a snapshot of your village has been attacked, however in the future they will be included in the replay log for you to review.
What will happen to Training Potions, Treats and Perks?
As of today (11th March 2025), Training Potions will no longer be sold in any in-app purchase bundles and the Training Treat will be removed from Chest rewards. These Magic Items will no longer be required as there will be no training times.
They will remain available from the Trader and in the Gold Pass rewards for the time being, however when the update that removes training times is live, they will be removed from player’s inventories and converted to Gems.
The Training Park in the Gold Pass will also be changing…
What about Donations?
Once the update is live, donations will require either Elixir or Dark Elixir to donate to your Clanmates (depending on the Troop/Spell). The exact value of each is still being determined but the team intends for donations to remain accessible. If you don’t have sufficient resources to donate, you can always carry out another attack to get more resources.
The Clan Castle reinforcement request timer is being changed to a flat 10 minutes for all players. This is currently a level 7 Clan Perk and is the shortest request time available, so all players will be getting the best perk regardless of Clan level.
The Training Perk in the Gold Pass will be changed to reduce the Donation Request Timer, enabling you to require more Clan Castle reinforcements after every battle.
Will Trophy inflation be an issue?
Trophy offers were previously balanced around the 2 attacks per session limit and removal of this limit could lead to Trophy inflation. To counter this, the amount of trophies earned from all victories will be reduced to balance this with the largest reduction occurring to 1 star victories. You’ll still earn trophies for winning attacks and be able to climb to higher leagues, however this will be more difficult if you only get 1 star victories.
This is a safety measure while the new system is monitored to ensure everyone doesn’t end up boosted into Legend League as a result of Trophy inflation. The Clash of Clans team will be monitoring this and will be able to adjust these values over time with a simple server maintenance, if required.
How will Legend League be affected?
Legend League players will continue to have their 8 attack per day limit, for now. This will be changed in a future update, however current data shows that most Legend League players don’t complete their 8 attacks already. With the removal of training times, you will be able to complete all 8 of your daily Legend League attacks in a single sitting.
When will this change happen?
This will be coming quite soon, keep an eye on the Clash Ninja social media accounts for more details when they are announced.
