The June 2021 update for Clash of Clans is now live and introduces a new troop, a new Super Troop and some Quality of Life changes.
This post will summarise what has been added/changed, however the full patch notes can be viewed here:
New Troop: Dragon Rider
A new elixir troop has been introduced, the Dragon Rider. It is available at Town Hall 13 once the barracks have been upgraded to level 15. The Dragon rider is a flying troop that prefers to target defenses. Similar to a Balloon, upon destruction, it will do additional damage when destroyed.

New Super Troop: Rocket Balloon
As the name suggests, the Rocket Balloon takes the regular Balloon and straps on rocket boosters! For the first four seconds of deployment, the Rocket Balloon has a speed boost, similar to when using a Haste spell. Even when the speed boost has ended, the Rocket Balloon has a higher base movement speed than the regular Balloon.
- Boost Cost: 25,000 Dark Elixir
- Favorite Target: Defenses
- Damage Type: Area Splash
- Targets: Ground
- Housing Space: 8
- Movement Speed: 12
The Rocket Balloon is available at TH12 once the Balloon has been upgraded to level 8.

Walls
An additional 50 walls can be upgraded to level 15, bringing the total to 150.
Quality of Life Changes/Fixes
A number of Quality of Life changes and fixes have been made in this update:
Army Composition Sharing:
- Similar to base layout links, you can now share your saved army compositions to Clan chat or as a link. Players can then save your shared army to one of their quick train slots.
- Unlike base layout links, army links never expire,
- You can now copy armies between your own Quick Train slots in case you want to make slight modifications to each army list, without the need to manually recreate it again.
Village Rotation
- When editing your village layout, it is now possible to rotate the layout in 90 degree increments.
- Rotating your village will trigger the 1 day layout cooldown timer.
Customizable Deployment Bar Sizes
- It is now possible to to change the size of the deployment bar. This is done by adjusting the slider so that you can find the optimal size for your device.
- The previous “Use Extended Deployment Bar” option for tablets has now been renamed “Use Two Rows” and appears within this new menu.
